Goodbye Summer Birds and Butterflies

Goodbye Summer Birds and Butterflies

As autumn is now here in full force I bid adieu to the summer birds and butterflies.  My favorite thing that I have planted in the past couple of years has been my front flower bed.  I can sit at my office desk and watch the birds and butterflies sipping nectar or mowing down on seed heads.

Streets of Gold

Streets of Gold

autumn street

Excerpt from Stasi’s blog at Ransomed Heart – “It was…autumn.  (Surprise!)  I had gone for a walk in the woods following a path along a stream.  The aspens had turned their glorious golden hue and in the slight breeze were shedding their flower-like leaves.  The path was strewn with gold as I softly padded along.

Well, if the streets in heaven are gold like THIS, then that will be beautiful!”  Sometimes I surprise myself.  My unconscious thoughts emerge in the most unexpected of times.  I realized that I had pictured the streets of gold in heaven as solid and hard, cold and undesirable.  But this gold – this living, moving exhibition – was filled with splendor.  Surely our divinely gorgeous and creative God will outdo himself beyond my best but limited imagination!”  It’s Raining

11 Diseases Coffee Can Prevent

The above article is good news for those of us who enjoy our coffee.  Coffee is good for us!  One thing I have done to improve the health of this cream and sugar lover is to use organic coconut milk and a tsp of pure maple syrup or honey in my coffee.  Sure it doesn’t reduce the calories but it tastes good and is a healthier substitute.

Barn Quilts

Making Barn Quilts

Decided to make a couple of barn quilts to hang on the old carriage house/shed in the back that we just painted to spice things up.  I thought I would explain my process here in case anyone would like to try as well.

I found a couple of quilts I liked and then proceeded to print the picture and divided the quilt picture into quadrants.  I then used a bit of math to be able to do it to scale in order to transfer the pattern onto my 4′ x 4′ 3/4″ plywood boards that my hubby got pre-cut at the lumberyard.  We could have cut them ourselves but they do it for free so why not take advantage of their kind service?  😉 Read More

Essential Oils

Essential Oils

Some time ago I was invited to a Young Living party and decided to go and see what they had to say.  I have been using essential oils for at least 15 years and would only put pure certified organic oils diluted with a carrier oil on my skin.  I am also very cautious what oils I would use on children.  Basically, I have found lavender, chamomile and eucalyptus (specific) type to be the only ones I would use on children.  I would be cautious what types you use for pets as well.  I believe in researching before using. My New Blog

Welcome to My New Blog – Metamorphosis Cafe!

Life change- becoming who I was created to be.

You will see and read bits of my faith through this site.  My faith is part of who I am and colors my view of the world.  I make no apology for that.  I view my entire life as a journey.  In that journey I am learning and growing in ways that affect my spiritual self, my physical self and my emotional/intellectual self.
