Update on My Palate Cleanse
The past few days have been difficult. I did have to add in protein to my tomato veggie soup after the first day. For lunch I added 1/2 cup of plain yogurt and for supper lean grass fed hamburger. Just being real with you all and letting you know my struggles. Today I had eggs for breakfast instead of the green juice. Even though the sugars in the juice are fruit I really feel like it was too much sugar for my system and that adding protein is more important. Every one is different and I know I would have a lot of difficulty with being a vegetarian. 🙂 I like meat. I just like to make sure that whomever I am getting the meat from is raising their animals in a humane manner before their life is ended.
For lunch I had a salad with albacore tuna and for supper we had baked chicken breast and steamed vegetables. It is nice to have a bit different variety. Six meals of veggie soup in a row is too many. 🙂 I do believe my joints are not hurting as much and I have lost six pounds this week. Many of the cravings are back under control too. That was my real goal with this. I was just letting myself eat all kinds of starchy carbs and sugars and I really needed to get a handle on things.
Baked chicken breast seasoned with garlic, paprika, salt & pepper. I spread some salsa on top and halfway through baking sprinkled a little shredded cheddar cheese on it. I also threw the broccoli and cauliflower in the pan with the chicken to roast while the chicken finished. Sweet potato with a teaspoon on butter and salt and pepper completed the meal. This was delicious and I am so happy to be not eating vegetable soup again! 🙂
